Experience the Mecca

Visiting Howard University provides students with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the Howard Experience and to interact with our students, faculty and staff. Our campus visit program is designed to provide our guests with information about our wide range of academic programs, the admission process, financial aid, and student life on campus. Our information sessions and campus tours last approximately two hours.

Group Tours

Howard University welcomes high schools, community colleges, and other special groups with a minimum of 10 students and no more than 50 students to schedule a visit to our beautiful campus. Unfortunately, due to capacity constraints and to ensure we can provide a memorable experience we are unable to accommodate groups larger than 50 students. We require groups to provide one (1) chaperone per ten (10) students to ensure effective management of the group. Groups smaller than 10 may schedule a visit using the individual and family registration form.

We offer group visits during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters at the following times:

Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m.

Groups may request the following:

  • Information session by an admissions officer;

  • Campus tour by a student ambassador; or

  • Information session and campus tour

During the visit, confirmed groups will be led on a walking tour around campus by one of our Student Ambassadors. While on tour, each group will be provided with information on Howard’s legacy and tradition, academics, housing, and extra-curricular activities. To submit a request for a group visit, please follow the link below, and we will do our best to honor your requested visit date and time. Our team will reach out to you approximately prior to the requested visit date with a confirmation or denial of your group visit.

While we value the opportunity to engage and connect with as many groups as possible, we acknowledge that timing and circumstances do not always allow us the capacity to do so. Groups who desire more advance notice than 3 weeks prior to the requested visit date or those we are unable to accommodate are invited to explore our campus on their own using our informative self-guided tour.
