Howard University is more than a campus—it is an experience. Bison Preview invites high school seniors, transfer students and their families to spend a day at The Mecca exploring academic programs, learning about admission and financial aid, connecting with the Howard community and experiencing the culture, tradition and Bison pride that set Howard apart.
The energy continues at 3 p.m. when the Howard Bison take on Hampton University at Audi Field in the Battle of the Real HU, one of HBCU football’s most storied rivalries. From discovering your academic path to witnessing Howard tradition in action, this is your opportunity to picture yourself at Howard—and begin your journey toward becoming a Bison.
Registration for Bison Preview does not include admission to the Howard–Hampton football game. A special block of game tickets will be available for prospective students and families. Details can be found on the Registration site.

Guests may catch the Howard University shuttle bus, which stops at the Howard University Bookstore on Georgia Avenue and near the corner of Georgia Avenue and Howard Place.
October in Washington, D.C. brings crisp mornings and mild afternoons. We recommend dressing in layers so you’ll be comfortable throughout the day. Bring along a light jacket or sweater, and don’t forget to wear comfortable walking shoes—you’ll be exploring every corner of The Yard! If you're going to the game, layer up for the cool evening.
Bison Preview is held during one of Howard University's most anticipated weekends—the Battle for the Real HU our historic football rivalry with Hampton University. We invite you to continue your Howard experience by joining thousands of Bison fans as we cheer on the Howard Bison in one of the University's most celebrated traditions.
