College Money Journey
Prepare early. Understand the cost. Make informed choices.
Your college plans start with big possibilities. Understanding how to pay for them starts with a few simple steps.
The College Money Journey is a free email series from Howard University for high school students and their families. Whether you’re just starting high school or exploring where to apply, you’ll learn how college costs work—and what you can do to prepare.
Through nine short emails, you’ll explore:
- College costs: Understand tuition, other expenses, and what your family might pay.
- Saving and scholarships: Find ways to prepare and explore scholarship opportunities.
- Financial aid: Learn about the FAFSA, grants, work-study, and loans.
- Your college money plan: Compare costs and ask questions before making a choice.
Each email includes a Your Money Move, one practical step you can take with a parent, family member, or trusted adult. You’ll also get a College Money Checklist and finish with a short quiz to practice what you’ve learned.
You don’t need to have all the answers. Start building your plan today.
